Turning Up: A Dharma of Human ConnectionFriday, February 3, 2012 at 5 p.m to Wednesday, February 8 at 2 p.m.
Hartzer Park Centre, Bowral with Joyce Kornblatt and Christopher McLean Join us on a 5-day Buddhist retreat in which we’ll explore the ways in which the Dharma reveals itself in the dynamics of relational life. In silent meditation and dialogical practices, we’ll investigate: object relations, interdependence, embodiment, the feeling life and the non-dual perspective. How does the Buddhadharma arise from our embodied life? How does our suffering manifest in our interactions with others and the natural world? If we bring a kind heart to this suffering, what freedom is possible? Everyone will have a private room. All meals vegetarian, provided by a wonderful external caterer in Bowral. Fee: $675, which includes accommodation; all meals and morning/afternoon tea. The teachers will charge no fee, so you are invited to make a voluntary contribution—dana—during the retreat. Scholarships are available. Further Inquiries & Registration: There is an inquiry form at www.cloudrefuge.org (See'February Retreat' on the top menu.) You can also register on the website. Payment details are given there. Retreat terms and conditions Teachers: Christopher McLean and Joyce Kornblatt Christopher has practiced Buddhadharma for forty-two years. (www.cloudrefuge.org) For it is important that awake people be awake, or a breaking line may discourage them back to sleep; the signals we give—yes or no, or maybe-- should be clear: the darkness around us is deep. —William Stafford |
