Deepening Into Stillness and Insights
This year's Deepening Into Stillness retreat will explore a core teaching the Buddha gave regarding the 'burden' we carry, in his words: 'Taking up the burden is suffering in the world, Laying the burden down is blissful' Have you ever felt that no matter what you do, there remains a subtle dissatisfaction or unease in your life? That somehow ease and deep stillness remain elusive. When we begin to see the patterns that pull us out of the present moment and away from the full enjoyment of life, our body, heart and mind naturally settle into ease and stillness. The key is to get insight and understanding into the mindset and behaviours that continually repeat the patterns of dissatisfaction. On this retreat we will add personal inquiry sessions to our traditional meditation practices, as a way to facilitate insights that support freeing ourselves from our burden and to settle into more stillness. The retreat program will consist of daily guided meditation instructions, sitting meditations, walking meditations, Dharma talks, inquiry exercises and Body Dhamma sessions. Body Dhamma is a way to embody the theme of the retreat through movement, supporting dancing with life and rediscovering your vitality and the pleasure of living. Who should attend: This retreat is open to both beginners and experienced meditators who seek to:

'This wonderful retreat format of beautifully intermingling Body Dhamma movement sessions with insight meditation, seems the perfect combination. May there be many more of these wise and supportive retreats in the future! Thank you.' Nourishing, that would be the word for my experience at this retreat. The Body Dhamma sessions were the highlight. The movement practices complemented each other so well and were balanced with stillness practice. In just 5 days I was able to deepen my connection to my heart-mind-body in an unexpected and entirely wholesome way. Great retreat for all levels of meditation experience. If you're reading this then go! (or should I say “join” as I certainly hope to do this retreat again!) Kat Cobley 2024
