Membership

Sydney Insight Meditators (SIM) is a not-for-profit association to support the practice of insight (vipassana) meditation, a practice that the Buddha founded over 2500 years ago.

SIM supports affiliated sanghas (meditation groups) in Sydney and regional areas and organises workshops, talks and retreats led by Australian-based and international meditation teachers. It also hosts this website and a newsletter which play a vital role in informing members and other interested people of its activities. All the operations of SIM are run entirely by volunteers.

If your membership is due for renewal or you are not yet a member and support the activities of SIM, now is the time to update. Your contribution is greatly valued and facilitates the continued operations of SIM. The membership fee is payable each year in July, prior to the SIM Annual General Meeting. Membership entitles you to vote at the AGM.

SIM AGM is an opportunity to discuss past SIM events as well as SIM's plans for next year. This is also an opportunity to express any interest in joining the SIM committee or supporting the SIM community.
We welcome new Committee members. The committee meets every 2 months over dinner to manage SIM and plan and manage our program of activities. It is possible for people outside Sydney to attend by Skype.  If you think you might be interested, please contact us.
