Retreat Scholarships

At Sydney Insight Meditators (SIM) we wish to ensure that financial hardship is not a barrier to anyone wanting to attend any of its retreats.

Our goal in administering scholarships is to balance our intention to make it possible for anyone to attend with mindful stewardship of SIM resources. Funding for Scholarships come from SIM reserves, surplus from previous events as well as the generosity of our members and supporting retreatants. We hope that everyone applying for scholarships will understand that the questions we ask in this form are solely for this purpose.

We wish to extend as much assistance as we can, although we can not guarantee meeting the full financial need of applicants. Priority will be given to those who have not received a scholarship in the last 12 months.

Scholarships are granted at the discretion of the SIM committee.

SIM offers three levels of scholarships. Please indicate the level of scholarship you would like to apply for:
  • 50% reduction of the retreat price, for those able to make a contribution
  • 75% reduction of the retreat price, for those able to make a small contribution
  • 100% reduction of the retreat price, for those who currently have little means to pay
Please note that Dana for the teachers is not included in the retreat price or scholarship.

Sydney Insight Meditators acknowledges the Gadigal, Dharug and Dharawal peoples, the traditional custodians of the lands on which SIM is located. We acknowledge their ongoing connection to the land, water, sky, and animals. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present, and emerging.
