During this time of global upheaval and transformative potential, contemplative writing is a powerful resource. As in sitting/walking meditation, we can drop into a space of not-knowing from which the body’s innate wisdom can arise. Then the words that flow through the hand to the page offer a fresh way of being with even our most difficult experiences.
In a safe community of shared silence, writing practices, and mindful discussion, the Buddhist teachings on the Five Remembrances will offer guidance and refuge throughout our retreat: * I am of the nature to grow old. * I am of the nature to have ill health. * I am of the nature to die. * All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. * My actions are my only true belongings, the ground on which I stand. About the Teacher Joyce Kornblatt is the founding teacher of Cloud Refuge Sangha, Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains. She has been a Buddhist practitioner in the Insight tradition for 30 years. A writer and Hakomi-trained psychotherapist, she has offered writing/meditation workshops and retreats in New South Wales since 2003.
